Why do some people say video when they mean DVD?
DVD
DVD stands for Digital Video Disk - so the term 'video' still applies. In the UK video is mistakenly thought to refer to just a VHS tape, but in the US they have no problem with the term video as standard when referring to a production completed on DVD.
Another accepted definition is Digital Versatile Disk, but neither description is considered incorrect.
