Ramada Newton Park wedding for Laura and Stuart
posted by: Karrie on 15 June 2008
When I spoke to Laura on Friday I knew it was going to be a great day ...

Happy in the sunshine
Laura had her priorities sorted and just wanted to enjoy the wedding with Stuart and that’s exactly what they did.
The ceremony at St Mary’s, Rolleston-on-Dove was friendly and relaxed as ever with Rev Ian Whitehead. With Jon at the front of the church and me on back camera we got some lovely footage of their vows, which were especially moving as they were conducted by Rev Rowland Worrall, Stuart’s grandfather.
The reception was at Ramada Newton Park in Newton Solney, under the new management of Nygel Stevenson, who has great plans for the already excellent venue. We always enjoy filming at Newton Park, with its lovely gardens and relaxed atmosphere.
I haven’t told you about the bride yet - Laura was radiant, and her ivory gown with jewelled bodice was truly elegant. Bridesmaids Claire and Naomi looked super in claret and Stuart and all his attendants had a blast in their kilts - seemed to be a lot of fun attached to what they were all keeping in their sporrans! Piper Ian Wilson kept the Scottish theme going during the drinks reception on the lawns and also piped the Bride & Groom into the wedding breakfast, where Best Man Joe Webster certainly entertained guests with his fun speech about Stuart.
We had a great time, with Jon acting as photographer for the day, and me promoted to first camera. Our thanks to Tom Reddy, Newton Park’s superbly efficient toastmaster, for his help organising the photo groups, and to all the guests who were so easy to work with. When we left parents John and Mary Bowen and John and Jane Warnock were already planning returning for the first anniversary - not sure whether Stuart and Laura were invited!
We’ll put a few more photos online in the gallery over the next few days, and of course we’ll be adding the film highlights to our movie theatre, but that’s a few weeks away yet.
Please leave Laura and Stuart a goodwill message using the comments form below (or email us and I’ll do it for you!), and we’ll email anyone who leaves a message to let them know when the movie is online.
We wish the new Mr and Mrs Warnock a wonderful life together. Have a great honeymoon and see you on the decks.

Well Mr and Mrs Warnock!
Just wanted to say what a brilliant time I had! Loads of memories that I will never forget. A few that spring to mind would be Stu lifting my kilt up in front of our work boss. I’m not too sure who was more shocked when Stu realised that I wasn’t wearing anything underneath it!
Have a great honeymoon and I’ll see you when you get back!
Take care,
Mark.
PS Hope you enjoyed the Piper!

Hi to everyone. I hope you all enjoyed Laura and Stuart’s Day, as much as I did. Firstly, I would like to thank everybody who co-operated with Jon and Karrie of Electra Films to get the photographic session completed so quickly (I have never seen it done that efficiently before).
After that, everybody seemed to have so much fun and looked relaxed, except for Stuart, of course, who said he could only relax after his speech! After the cake cutting and first dance, and just before I left, the Midnight Pumpkins (excellent group), seemed to have everybody up and leaping around. You all looked as if you were in for a good night.
I really do appreciate the positive comments, and thanks from so many of you, but for me it was a real pleasure to work for such a lovely couple, and their families and friends. I hope our paths may cross again in the near future.
Once again, congratulations to Laura and Stuart – I know that your Wedding Day was just the start of a fantastic future together. Lots of love, Tom xxx

My apologies to Stuart’s grandfather for the typo but hopefully I’ve spelt his name correctly now - oops!
To Tom - no problem. We were just sorry to have to rush everyone with the photos due to the tight timescale, but we wouldn’t want to get into the chef’s bad books by ruining the wedding breakfast! Hope you all enjoyed your meal? Photos look great, although Jon would obviously have liked a bit more time to be creative ... The Photo CD will be ready for Laura and Stuart before they get back from honeymoon, so let us know what you all think when you’ve seen them! Karrie16 June 2008

Mr & Mrs how many times I have said that and yet at your day the congregation took it to heart with their cheers. It was great for us [Rev Ian & Verger Chris] to be a small part of your day. You have been the best so far!

Your wedding sounds to have been much more fun than the one in Cana - and the wine didn’t run out. Great though that you had one guest in common! Every blessing. Love Doff
