Two new montages added to the movie theatre this week and one of them is a record holder!

Janet and Paul Hutson: super people and super wedding
Two new montage (define)s in the movie theatre for you to watch this week. The first is Alan and Lucy Smith’s wedding at Cranage Hall. Filmed last August, Lucy and Alan have spent months choosing the music for their film and we were worried they wouldn’t even have seen their wedding film by their first anniversary!
It was a long time ago (our longest wait for music so far, hence the record) but what you won’t experience in the montage is what a musical day it really was, with a brass band playing in church and The Chef Factor opera singers entertaining guests at the wedding breakfast. It really was a great day, which hopefully they are now re-living with their DVD (define). If you were a guest does this montage bring back any memories for you?
You can watch it with Window Media Player or Flash Player.
Our second new movie is Janet and Paul Hutson’s February wedding at Ramada Newton Park Hotel, Burton-on-Trent, which was a sunny Winter’s day with daffodils just daring to appear. Janet and Paul are a lovely couple with really warm personalities and we hope that shines through in their film. What do you think?
You can see their montage with Windows Media Player or Flash Player in the movie theatre too.
Lately we’ve noticed that more and more couples are having problems with music. Perhaps you feel the same: you want your film to reflect your personalities with your music choices but don’t know where to start. I’m going to be putting together a blog on how to choose your wedding DVD music, but please pass on your own tips using the comments form below. We all have different methods of narrowing down our favourites and it would be great to hear about them - and to pass them on.

If you’re having problems choosing your music just pick songs that mean something to you. We picked a lot of songs that held lots of happy memories for us and they fitted perfectly with our DVD, even though when we told people what we’d picked they didn’t agreee with us. You don’t always have to have Westlife! (Not that there’s anything wrong with Westlife!!!)
Karrie and Jon did a fab job with our dvd and the music fitted perfectly. If you choose music you love then it will work.

Hi Amber - good tip. Music that means something to you as a couple, can work really well and your own upbeat choices gave some real zing to reception and photo call scenes. Weddings films are about fun as well as the romance. Good to hear you’re still tuning in - keep ‘em coming!
PS Have you and Harry been asked for your autographs since your Wedding TV appearance? Rumour has it the programme’s now been sold worldwide!

Karrie, What can we say? WOW! To say that we love our DVD is an understatement!! Its amazing, you and Jon captured the day perfectly. All the little things that were said, things that happened that we didn’t know about, it’s brought the day alive all over again for us both! I’m on the verge of phoning in sick just so that I can spend a full day watching it over and over again! Can’t wait to start showing it to everyone!

The date was set for the grand première!
With 16 people packed into our lounge, the nibbles were being nibbled, the wine was flowing and pretty soon so were the tears! Yes it was our first ‘viewing evening’. It was so great to be able to see our friends and families reactions to our wedding DVD. A hush fell over the room as it started, laughter and tears followed! It made an amazing social event and has helped keep the memory of our special day alive! To see everyone enjoy the film as much as us gave us great pleasure. We’ve got more viewing evenings planned and I can’t wait!!

Hi Karrie,
I just wanted to comment on the clip you’ve put on the web site about the couple who regret not having their wedding filmed.
I actually filled up with tears at their pain, I simply can not imagine not having our amazing DVD. From the beginning of our planning, it was me that insisted on having the film, every time we went over budget,(which was often!) Paul would pass comment that we could cut back on certain things, the film being one of them. He has admitted now how glad he is that I stuck to my guns on this one! I urge anyone who is in the planning stages of their big day to budget for filming. It is beyond priceless!!!

Janet, once again that is a great comment. When I wrote the post I knew I could have quoted so many couples who felt as you do, and I know there must be loads of couples who do decide to ‘manage without’ a wedding video. There is no doubt in my mind that the pain you describe is real and felt by many. Glad you persuaded Paul.
Paul, this is one more example of how Janet is always right!!
PS Hope you don’t mind if I copy your comment into the blog post you mentioned as it is such a powerful comment to read.?
