Love and marriage at The Craythorne!
posted by: Karrie on 6 July 2008
Our first time filming at The Craythorne was obviously pre-destined because it was where Jenny and Ian first met when they were both working there eight years ago.
Ian and Jenny - loving smiles in the sunshine
We started filming Jenny’s preparations in Horninglow, where her mother Denise skilfully prepared the buttonholes. Jenny recorded a lovely message to Ian and Ian also left a super message to Jenny when we filmed him at The Spread Eagle pub next to the church - just goes to show how well suited they are.
I left Jon braving the elements at the church while I popped into the pub ... filming honest! He didn’t mind anyway, because we were back again at St Mary’s, Rolleston-on-Dove with Jon’s favourite vicar, Rev Ian Whitehead - he has such a great sense of humour (Jon’s still laughing at the wine into water joke!) and he makes our job easy, so our thanks.
The colour scheme was red and ivory and Jenny arrived in an ivory Rolls Royce by Leedhams, her dress was ivory with a short train and back lace detail with red roses and ivory lilies bouquet, while lovely bridesmaids Megan and Sophie were in red with ivory rose bouquets. In his speech Ian said he was bowled over by Jenny’s appearance and we could see why: she looked radiant. Everything was perfectly co-ordinated - from Ian and attendants’ rose buttonholes and red kerchiefs to the red rose petals and wedding favours.
Following photos in the sunshine (weren’t they lucky?) with the easy-going Ivan and Jean Harriman including a great confetti scene (thanks to the helpful guests!) it was off to The Craythorne for the reception. Surprisingly, as it’s on our doorstep, we’ve not filmed there before, but we were impressed by the helpful staff and good layout of the venue, with its great panoramic countryside views. Thanks to Emma, their wedding co-ordinator for her excellent organisation and help throughout.
Best Man Mitchell and ushers Dave and Nathan were amongst the lively crowd who were definitely up for a Big Night. When we left, Tyran’s Rotation Disco was in full swing and the chocolate fountain was flowing nearly as fast as the bar!
We wish Mr and Mrs Burrows a great honeymoon and look forward to seeing them soon on the editing decks.
Please leave them a message using the form below and we’ll email you when their video goes online in our movie theatre.
