Ashbourne wedding of Daniel and Nicola Galvin

Rain threatened and the wind blew, but Daniel, Nicola and their rugby player friends wouldn't let that spoil the fun! ...

We started filming at Ye Olde Vaults pub in Ashbourne market place, to a warm welcome by landlady Stella. (We’ll be back!) Daniel arrived in style in Best Man Maz’s Porsche and we filmed the general banter.

Then off to St Oswald’s Church to meet friendly vicar Geraldine Pond: what a beautiful church! Ushers Simon, John, Earl and Steve were on the ball organising and we were really pleased with the footage we captured.

Photos with David Weetman began with Dan’s rugby mates in full kit making an arch, and continued with a lavender petal confetti throw - smelt heavenly! Then on to Peveril of the Peak Hotel in a beautiful 4 door open top silver Beauford tourer by Occasions.

The gardens and rolling scenery beyond made a beautiful backdrop for Daniel and Nicola’s deep heather, lilac and ivory theme, which really suited lovely bridesmaids Donna, Claire, Laura and Amy - the entire bridal party looked great - but as Dan and Maz both said in their speeches, no-one outshone Nicola.  Adult guests relaxed with Buck’s Fizz on the patio while younger guests enjoyed running round the gardens!

The wedding breakfast was a great hit with guests and my new friends on Table 4 were heard to say they were impressed with the menu. (My thanks to them for their help.) We left after the Speeches and cake cutting but we heard rumours that Nicola may have had competition for Daniel’s dancing skills after the First Dance - Maz and Dan apparently have a well-known Quo routine ...
