Natalie and Dale's Rockingham Castle wedding

posted by: Karrie on 4 August 2008

Last time we filmed at Rockingham Castle there was a dramatic storm but this time the sun shone and the dramatics were later!

Natalie and Dale at Rockingham Castle

Natalie and Dale’s wedding at Rockingham Castle was a dream to film - Jon and I love the beautiful castle, idyllic gardens and stunning panoramic views, and this time the ceremony was held at Rockingham Church, set behind the castle amidst rolling acres of unspoilt countryside grazed by sheep - I could go on ...

The vicar and verger waited (and waited!) in the sunshine for the bridal party to arrive. With minutes to spare everyone finally arrived and we filmed the ceremony in the lovely unspoilt country church. Thanks to Rev Sian Reading for the great camera positions.

The black and white theme began with balloons marking a path to the church, continued with Groom Dale, Best Men Leonard and David, Ushers Kevin, Kyle, Thomas and Kenneth and not forgetting Page Boy Daniel in white shirts, black cravats and trousers and white waistcoats (no jacket so - help where does the microphone battery pack go?!) Bridesmaids Nicole, Rachel, Hayley and Emma dazzled in black gowns with white detailing, only outshone by Natalie who was radiant in a white gown and veil with black embroidery and detail. Lilies were worn and carried and later filled the marquee with their heavenly scent.

A quick sprint up to the castle ramparts (great line hey?) to film an overhead shot, then time for what Corby guests do so well ... the drinks reception! Kiwi Pics were the photographers, assisted by young Daniel calling out “Cheese! “ and raising smiles all round.

Speeches were before the meal and the Best Men had a good double act routine going, while Dale showed his appreciation of Natalie and the help they’d received with the wedding.

Masses of entertainment for all - bouncy castle for the kids, chocoholics’ heaven with 2 chocolate fountains from Soiree Delights, the Oasis tribute band Noasis and Danny the DJ.

We stayed on after the romantic First Dance to film Natalie’s dad singing ‘Take Good Care of My Baby’. The guests loved it as he told Dale to listen carefully to the lyrics and grandson Daniel was especially impressed!

Next bridesmaids and ushers performed a fantastic dance routine with Natalie’s mum and aunt wearing wigs, with T-shirts proclaiming ‘I Love Dale’ and ‘Natalie Loves Me’ adding a comic touch. The guests loved it. Natalie and Dale loved it, and soon Natalie was strutting her stuff with the group too - FANTASTIC! We’re hoping to send the dance video up to YouTube - good idea? Fireworks followed and the fun continued ...

Good to see Jamie and Leanne but why did Jamie want an annual anniversary reminder service?! Jock was another familiar face (and hand) and great to see you all again.

Congratulations Natalie and Dale. Please leave them a message using the comments form below, and we’ll email you when their wedding video goes into our movie theatre - or on YouTube of course.

To Natalie & Dale, Saturday was one of the loveliest days I’ve ever been a part of! It was so emotional seeing my best friend marry the man of her dreams in a fairy tale wedding (I’ve got to say something nice about Dale….he he). Sharing the day with my closest friends and family made the whole day extra special. Everyone looked amazing including us bridesmaids, thought it was funny when me and Emma were referred to as pint of Guinness! Apart from Natalie & Dale, the best dressed has to go to Daniel...I could have eaten him! Shouting ‘cheese’ for every photo was so cute… I can’t wait to see the video of us girlies singing on the steps and the ‘Hughes’ traditional dance to Cotton Eye Joe and Run DMC! What a laugh…

Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. It ‘s a memory I will cherish forever, me and Gary wish you both every happiness today, tomorrow and always!

All my love - Hayley & Gary xxxx
