Introducing Charles Edward Lovatt

We were delighted to be invited to Charlie's christening at St Michael's Church, Sutton-on-the-Hill.

My niece and god-daughter Louisa and her husband Oliver invited all their family (over 50!) and a few close friends to celebrate the christening, followed by a great party at Oliver’s parents Carolyn and Brian’s lovely home Sharrow Hall.
Charlie slept through most of the ceremony and only opened his eyes for a brief second or two when the baptism water was poured over his head, so god-parents Amanda Bostock, Edward Lovatt and Edward Pott didn’t have too arduous a task in church.
Champagne flowed to ‘wet the baby’s head’, followed by a barrel of beer, and even with all the laughter and noise of a big family gathering Charlie wasn’t bothered - so many people eager to hold him while he just lapped up the attention!
Charlie’s Uncle Ed proposed a toast to wish Charlie a happy life ahead and Jon and I would like to join him. Much love and laughter to you Charlie.

What a lovely day! Thank you Caz, Brian Louisa and Oliver for your wonderful hospitality! The rain was quite fortuitous as Charlie’s maternal grandfather and other farming relatives/friends were able to leave the harvest without a trace of guilt and join in the celebrations. Cracking day was had by all.
A Big thanks to the hosts for looking after all so well.
The local beer was good. Almost too good!!
