Sarah and Andrew's Somerford Hall wedding

posted by: Karrie on 13 October 2008

Sarah and Andrew chose a great location for their wedding, with beautiful ballroom, grand staircase and mirrors aplenty ...

A quick toast for two at Somerford Hall

We just can’t guarantee the weather in this country so choosing a venue where guests can be comfortable in attractive surroundings is a good idea and beautiful Somerford Hall meets the bill!

We arrived 2 hours before the ceremony to film outside location shots, arrivals and of course Sarah’s bridal preparations. With seven beautiful bridesmaids (Lynette, Jenny, Samantha, Michelle, Lauren, Annie and Ellie) there was plenty to film, and I will never forget Sarah’s fun poses in her fab boots ... before she put on her gorgeous gown!

The colour theme was chocolate, coffee and cream, with 2 bridesmaids in chocolate with coffee sashes and detailing, 2 in coffee with chocolate detailing and 2 in cream gowns - all the shopping that Sarah’s father Victor mentioned in his speech certainly paid off! The men wore chocolate brown suits and flowers were all soft ivory roses.

Patricia, Sarah’s mother, was understandably quite emotional at the sight of her beautiful daughter while Victor looked immensely proud as he escorted her down the beautiful staircase towards the ceremony.

After a lovely ceremony with a moving reading also written by Stuart Penn it was time for the photo shoot. We were working with photographer Phil Gallimore and his wife Sue - always a pleasure - assisted by Lisa. I know they were disappointed not to be able to use the stunning Hall grounds, but we did manage to get a few shots outside with Andrew and Sarah and the vintage car, before group shots inside. Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés while listening to relaxing music from piano soloist Dean Headland.

The wedding breakfast décor by Events Organised was absolutely amazing, with a period elegance style incorporating roses, pearls, vintage china, diamanté napkin rings, gold chargers and cranberry glass wine glasses.

Increasingly couples are choosing to have speeches before their wedding breakfast so the speakers can relax and enjoy their meal, and Andrew and Sarah followed this trend. Speeches were made by the Bride’s father, the Groom, Best Man Mark and Sarah proposed a toast to absent and departed friends and family. Our thanks to MC David Fairhurst for his assistance and to all the staff at Somerford Hall for their customary attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

Congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Fairhurst. We wish you a great honeymoon and wonderful life together. Please leave them a message using the comments form below and we’ll email you when their wedding video goes into our movie theatre.

Hi, Sarah and Andy FAIRHURST
thank-you for inviting me and the family to your beautiful wedding it was magical and sacred. That day will be remembered forever and will always be talked about the happiest day of lawful marriage ever to be recorded. The way you two looked into each others eyes was a golden moment to be treasured forever. May you bring each other happiness when one another is sad , May you pull each other up when you are down and may you be the guiding light when you are in the dark.I dont think I have ever seen two people so happy until the day you lovely couple became husband and wife

Thank you very much Sarah and Andy
love Holly xxxxxxxxx
