Woodborough Hall wedding

The wedding of Samantha Longe and Robert Thomas at Woodborough Hall near Nottingham was very definitely an unusual day ...

Right from the start Sam was determined to plan their wedding so guests could enjoy a relaxed informal day at a beautiful venue.

This was our first time filming at Woodborough Hall and we loved the venue: friendly staff, beautiful ceremony room, lovely interior, great Orangery for when photos outside aren’t possible and beautifully planned gardens.  Natalie of Tillyboo Events made our work so much easier with her superb organisation of the day - one of those special people who can anticipate any little detail even before it happens and who made the day’s schedule seem effortless ... our thanks for all your help.

We were working with Wayne of Life Photographic - again a great guy to work with, so thanks to Wayne too.

Sam wore a fitted Aphrodite gown with halter neck. She looked stunning and must have blown Rob away as she walked down the aisle with her mother Carole as escort and accompanied by Sophie and Ellie her 2 beautiful flower girls, who were dressed in ivory with green sashes, carrying baskets of rose petals. Roses and butterflies were a key part of Sam’s earth tones theme - subtle and beautiful.

There were a few moments of laughter mid-ceremony when the registrar seemed to be confused about who was the bride, but Sam kept her cool and they signed the register to Temisan’s lovely singing. The music continued with saxophonist Rosemary during the drinks and canapés reception. Luckily the torrential rain passed so photos were in the sunshine.

The first speeches and cake cutting were in the Orangery with Carole Longe, the Groom and Best Man Dene entertaining guests, with second speeches for evening guests led by Sam’s Uncle Femi, who enthralled with his description of Sam’s Nigerian royal ancestry.

Their First Dance was a fabulous routine - wow! When we left the party was really swinging with singer and musician Roy Dewired filling the dance floor and a sumptuous buffet underway!
