Roger and Cherryl's Irish English Filipino wedding

posted by: Karrie on 1 June 2009

Roger and Cherryl would have to win any prize for laid-back and relaxed couple of the year ...

After the ceremony and time to relax!

All they really thought about was the actual ceremony and their guests being able to enjoy the day - how perfect is that?

Jon was photographer, whilst I was filming and from the moment we met Roger at their beautiful home where we filmed bridal preparations it was a beautiful day. Roger’s gardens could walk away with prizes anywhere for a perfect English country garden, while his 2 daughters showed real fashion flair in chic turquoise cocktail length gowns with stunning fascinators in co-ordinating turquoise and lime green.

Cherryl, Roger’s diminuitive Filipino bride was serenely beautiful in a white gown, carrying a white and pink rose bouquet and Jon is really pleased with the photos he took to reflect her very natural beauty.

On to St Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church, Northfield where Father Noel, their Irish priest, conducted a very moving ceremony with a Nuptial Mass - but also incorporating some Filipino traditions. Roger and Cherryl were fastened together with a veil and bound with a silken chord and Roger presented Cherryl with the traditional 13 gold coins.

Next it was on to Lea Marston Golf & Lesiure Hotel, where Heidi Bryan was managing the wedding. With the temperature still soaring Roger and Cherryl decided to leave the photo shoot till later, so after a few welcome drinks guests adjourned to enjoy a beautiful wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches. Cheryl’s UK stand-in father Mark delivered a magnificent speech on behalf of Cherryl’s family back home, Best Man Tim provided the laughter, but it was the Bride herself who brought tears to many eyes - and Roger could not have been prouder.

Photos outside in the gardens followed the meal; the evening then progressed with fun competitions and relaxed socialising with the cutting of the wedding cake and an evening buffet; it was lovely for Cherryl to see so many Filipino guests to make her feel at home.

Photos are online now - go to Photography Services / view photos section but if you would like to order any prints then just a reminder that they are at reduced quality online but prints will be full quality.

Please leave them a goodwill message using the comments form below and we will then email you when their video is edited for you to watch their video highlights in our movie theatre.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Smythe. We hope you will always be as happy as you were at your lovely wedding, and if you need us to film your Filipino celebrations later this year, you have our number!
