Ali and Luke's wonderful wedding at Stone Manor

posted by: Karrie on 15 June 2009

We'd been looking forward to Ali and Luke's wedding and keeping everything crossed for good weather and it must have worked!

Alison and Luke Skidmore at Stone Manor - a film still image

I arrived at Stone Manor near Kidderminster really early to avoid motorway roadwork traffic and knew we would enjoy working there. The busy gardener happily pointed out the best spots for photos and I took some background footage of the beautiful gardens; and the hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful so our thanks to all.

Next it was on to The Robins where Jon took photographs and I filmed bridal preparations with Ali and her 5 bridesmaids: Danielle, Nicole, Gemma,Sarah and Sally. They were all so chilled out as Elaine Cooper created stunning hairstyles for all, with relaxed group make-up and champagne - it was easy to see what close friends they all are!

Jon left to film Luke and the guys at The Queen’s in Belbroughton: bacon butties at the local before the ceremony - a good start to the day - before they all left for the beautiful old Holy Trinity Church in Belbroughton. Yes, it was disappointing that the vicar doesn’t allow filming from the front, but we still managed to capture some lovely moments from the ceremony which I’m sure Luke and Ali will enjoy seeing on film. A couple of photos outside and loads of confetti and the bridal party drove off in style in the beautiful horse driven carriages from Dodford Carriages - a first for us seeing 2 carriages and so Jane Austen but the wedding party looked as if they were born to the part!

We were ready and waiting at Stone Manor where ushers Tony, Jeremy, Phil and Matt were a great help organising a speedy photo shoot. We had plenty of time for a romantic bride and groom shoot too - had a quick peak at the camera and I loved the pics!

After a lovely wedding breakfast it was time for excellent speeches from Ali’s father Stephen Hadfield, Luke, Best Man Nick and Matron of Honour Danielle: all really genuine speeches that captured the moment perfectly. More relaxation outside as evening guests arrived and I filmed video guest messages in the gardens before the buffet and First Dance. When I left the party was in full swing with the dance floor packed to the music of The Space Hoppers.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Skidmore. We know you’re going to be really happy together. Have a great honeymoon and we should have your photos online for your return from honeymoon.

Please leave them a message using the comments form below the photos are now online here. We’ll let you know when the video highlights are in our movie theatre too!

To The Skidmores

I hope you have both returned intact from the safari, then again no tigers would be interested in either of you as there is no meat on you.
A week ago today and we are all still talking about what a fantastic day it was.
So happy for you both and well done for organising such a great day in such a short space of time (shotgun?)
Heres to your future and I’m looking forward to all the good times ahead and to you both growing up so I dont have to get drunk every weekend.

Love Jezza (aka Mr Dusty Binns)

p.s I think Davids comment about the Bridesmaids was very insensitive and they all looked beautiful.
