Joanne and David Peeler's Somerford Hall wedding

Saturday was forecast as heavy rain but Joanne and David must have driven the clouds away ...

Joanne and David - a quiet moment alone!

I began the day filming at Joanne’s parents’ home in Rising Brook, Stafford where I met Heidi Jenkins the family friend and photographer - not forgetting the bride’s parents Herb and Sue, who were feeding pageboy George and birthday girl flower girl Naimh a good cooked dinner before the wedding. Sue was amazing as she rushed around helping everyone - a Super Mum indeed!

Jon went ahead to St Thomas’ Church in Walton-on-the Hill to film groom David, Best Man Dan Moore and ushers Mark and Chris Hill and guests arriving. I stayed filming the bride’s preparations, including the drive to church in the beautiful vintage car from Adam and Eve Weding Cars - our thanks to them. Should be some great footage, so really looking forward to seeing it on the editing decks!

The friendly ceremony was conducted by the lovely Reverend Phil with Lynn Leahy reading. I filmed from the organ loft, which involves braving the cobwebs on the steep climb up but provides a fantastic overhead view of the ceremony. Rain started to fall but stopped on cue just before Joanne and David walked down the aisle.

Heidi decided to take most of the photos at the church - just in case rain set in again - then it was off to one of our regular film venues: Somerford Hall. The sunshine meant guests could relax with drinks on the patio in the hall’s beautiful gardens, while I filmed some great romance shots with David and Joanne and Jon set up some cool shots to use in a special ending to the wedding video, planned with David and Joanne.

The excellent wedding breakfast that followed, organised by the superb Phillipa Evans and her staff was enjoyed by all the guests, before speeches from the Father of the Bride Herb, Groom David and Best Man Dan. Again short speeches well-received by all - in fact hecklers tried to keep Dan’s speech going longer to increase their chance at winning the speech time tote! Phillipa brought in a birthday cake and everyone sang a special Happy Birthday to Niamh. (As a side note, there were loads of children amongst the guests, which always makes for good footage, but they were all incredibly well-behaved too.)

Jon filmed some cool messages ... and maybe one or two naughty ones as well, but you’ll have to wait for the wedding video release to see the details! Evening guests had arrived and it was time for the First Dance, which was Kelly Clarkson’s ‘A Moment Like This’ and the disco was soon underway, with a hog roast to follow.
