Marston Farm Hotel wedding for Amy and Stephen
posted by: Karrie on 1 August 2009
Lovely church, great venue, super couple - all the ingredients for a perfect wedding video and photos, but read on for much more!

Loads more photos to see in their online photo choices album
This was a wedding photos and combined wedding video for Electra Films, and we began at Meadow Farm, Canwell with Amy’s bridal preparations. Greeted by Susan in a jewelled ‘Mother of the Bride’ T-shirt, we filmed Amy enjoying herself with bridesmaids Laura Dunne and Rachel Harrison, with Barbara doing make-up. How many prezzies did Amy give them??
Then it was on to St Mary, St Giles & All Saints Church in Canwell ... should have been easy BUT as Amy is so super-organised I hadn’t checked on the postcode she gave us. She’d put her home postcode instead; according to our sat nav Canwell doesn’t even exist; the emergency contacts both had their mobiles switched off and the farm landline was engaged. (Slight panic!) Finally Clive Harrison, Amy’s father answered the phone and kindly and calmly directed us to the church. THANK YOU. (I will NEVER not check and also print directions again - promise.)
We had plenty of time to set up, film church details and meet vicar and family friend Rev Bill Moore. A super friendly guy and a beautiful church - perfect! Groom Stephen arrived with Best Man Richard Faulkner in a superb red vintage Alfa Romeo driven by Mark Longmore, looking smart in grey morning suits. Usher Chris Harrison did a good job with the seating of guests, before the lovely bridesmaids, cute flower girl Holly Parkinson and bride arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce by Elegance Bridal Cars - superb cars and lovely, helpful people. (Loved the bridesmaids’ dresses handmade by Sandra too.)
Amy walked down the aisle with her proud father, totally stunning Stephen as he saw her. She looked amazing, with her gorgeous gown by Maggie Sottero accentuating her tiny waistline - wow! It was a beautiful ceremony with a great sermon reflecting on the fun of Amy and Stephen’s romance, and Jon is as pleased with the photos as I am with the film footage, so looking good ...! Time for guests to chat, a few photos, surprise appearance by a chimney sweep for good luck and on to Marston Farm Hotel. A favourite venue of ours with fantastic canalside photo locations, lovely courtyard and marquee, super food and great service! Our thanks to Claire Palmer and the excellent staff for their assistance.
After a superb wedding breakfast time for speeches by Clive, Stephen and Best Man Richard, who had gone to great lengths to make sure all Stephen’s past life was revealed!
Loads of friends arrived to join the fun and Suburban Sounds disco was set to rock the marquee, but not before the First Dance - Richard had told everyone about their dance lessons in his speech, so the pressure was on ... great dancing guys, and the jive number that followed was cool too. The buffet was served and when we left everything looked set for a good night ...
Our congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Faulkner. Have a great honeymoon in Italy. The photos are now online in Stephen and Amy’s online photo selection album.
