Roman Way Hotel Cannock wedding for Sarah and Mark
posted by: Karrie on 13 September 2009
Fantastic weather, fun crowd and plenty of excellent food and drink - sounds like a good start to married life ...

Sarah and Mark Besant - happy day!
For the wedding of Sarah Wilde and Mark Besant we began filming Mark and the guys at his parents’ home in Brownhills. Mark’s dad Wayne had served up the bacon to Mark, his brother and Best Man Chris, ushers Benjamin Wilde, Matthew Pennel, Jay Duckhouse and Andrew Schnarbel and he soon sorted out their buttonholes in time for a quick ‘bevvie’ at their local club. They were dressed to impress - no surprises when you hear that Kevin Paul of Hednesford were the outfitters - and must have cut quite a dash when they all walked in!
On to film Sarah and her bridesmaids Charlotte and Emma Wilde, Donna Besant and Nicole Keeling with cute flower girls Ellie Wilde and Gracie Besant all getting ready together. Mark though that Sarah would be nervous but we found an oasis of calm. We’ve never seen bridesmaids so organised and chilled. Well done ladies: you looked stunning in Sarah’s colour scheme of deep purple and white (incidentally this year’s hot wedding fashion colour in USA according to my American colleagues).
We were working with Robert and Jane from Robert Yardley Photography, one of our very favourites to work with and it was great to catch up with them. (Their photos will be online on 17th September.)
Off to The Roman Way Hotel, where Paul, the operations manager and his staff were ready to greet everyone - and how helpful are they? Our thanks to you all for making our job so easy. The ceremony room was beautifully laid out with chair covers with purple bows and flowers by Blossoms.
The guys arrived, photos and Darren drove the first car from Platinum Wedding Cars, the gleaming Daimler Royal Limousine. Paul followed with the bride in the delectable Austin Princess Vanden Plas Limousine, but he had to ‘hover’ while guests were ushered in from the glorious sunshine before delivering the bride to the door!
Sarah walked down the red carpet to the ceremony and Mark told me he was definitely ‘wowed’ when he saw her appear in her Benjamin Roberts gown. Sarh has a figure to die for and in that gown ...
Buck’s Fizz and confetti before Jon left with the Bride and groom to film their journey to a woodland photo shoot for the bride and groom. I did suggest that Paul drive over a few potholes so Jon’s footage would be not up to my usual driving footage but Paul is far too professional for that ... ah well!
I filmed guests and the wedding breakfast décor in the Hatherton Suite before the main photo shoot back at the hotel before the wedding breakfast: an excellent menu of melon with sorbet starter, hot buffet with masses of choices and a truly divine chocolate torte! Speeches went down a storm with Best Man Chris especially raising the roof and Mark’s grandfather’s impromptu toast being especially lovely too.
We filmed video guest messages downstairs in the foyer and there were some really cool messages to look forward to when the film is edited! When the evening guests had arrived Mark and Sarah had their First Dance, then Paul and Tony’s disco got everyone on the floor in record time - good music choices guys and our thanks for helping us get some cool footage! We left before the ‘Dance Off’ scheduled for the end of the evening but we left a ‘spy camera’ in charge and I’m hoping to receive lots of emailed photos too. Apparently Mark won - rumour has it that it was a fix but he looked pretty cool on the dance floor earlier, so maybe he was just inspired by marrying Sarah?
Our congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Besant. Please Leave them a message using the comments form below this and we’ll email you when their Roman Way Hotel Cannock wedding video is online in our movie theatre.

Such a beautiful day and a brilliant wedding! Shame we can’t have it every weekend! Although, looking at Mark the day after I don’t think he could cope with the drink every weekend. It was such a lovely day and we’re glad how perfect it was as you both really deserved it. Welcome to the family Mark! Love you both xXx
