Adam and Jayne's Belfry wedding
posted by: Karrie on 23 March 2010
It was lovely to see old friends and new at Adam and Jayne's Belfry wedding ...

Raining outside but they'd got it covered!
Rain didn’t stop play because Adam and Jayne are a couple prepared for everything. Adam had even recorded ‘Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head’ for us to dub on to their film ... just in case!
We began the day with film and photos at Adam and Jayne’s home in Tamworth. The house was buzzing with so many people rushing round and getting ready and perhaps one of my all-time funniest make-up shots was of Jayne and bridesmaid Geraldine sitting in front of a PC using a Youtube guide for make- up ... and when cravats needed tying - yes it was Youtube again! It was lovely to see the warm and caring atmosphere between Jayne and her lovely family.
Bridesmaids Geraldine, Megan and Alice looked lovely and so elegant in their mint and teal green with Jayne’s dad and brother doing her proud in the smart suits with ivory waistcoats and teal green cravats. I LOVED Jayne’s dress by Caroline Jane of Tamworth (no, it was not a meringue Jayne) and especially the satin hooded cape which she wore to make an entrance up the aisle - magic! Ring Bearer Elliot Dickens did his job with aplomb - including dashing round during the speeches to show everyone photos of Adam growing up) and little Jessica Dickens was so cute in her pretty ivory dress with flower petals.
Jon left to take photos at St Chad’s Church, Hopwas while I filmed all the last minute bustle, departures and the car journey too.
A lovely ceremony was conducted by Rev Alan Wheale with readings by Trudie Bennett and Vivienne Dickens. By now the Heavens had opened and the vicar kindly let us use the church for group photos before Adam and Jayne left for The Belfry for their wedding reception.
Kate, Sophie and Craig were on duty at The Belfry and they had the Wishaw Suite looking beautiful. Our thanks to them for their customary excellent organisation and help - guests all thoroughly enjoyed the excellent meal too.
The last time we filmed Adam he was Best Man at his brother James’ wedding to Kate (now with a beautiful baby girl, so our congratulations) but this time roles were reversed and we were really impressed with the speeches from both, which followed a short heartfelt speech from Jayne’s father Eric.
A few more photos and a rather cool idea I tried out for the video - to make up for all the rain, hopefully - and soon it was time to cut the stunning wedding cake made by Irene Cole, with Robin Hood and Maid Marion poised by chocolate steps leading up to an enchanted castle. The First Dance soon followed and after some energetic dancing it was time for the buffet and we left everyone enjoying themselves.
Our congratulations to the new Mr and Mrs Dickens. Please leave them a goodwill message and we’ll email you when their wedding film trailer is online. Their Belfry wedding photos are online too - low quality for the Internet though - so click on Weddings, then on their name and enjoy!

Dear Jayne & Adam
We are so thrilled that you had such a wonderful and special day to remember. We were so upset that we couldn’t be there to see you but were thinking about you. The photos are beautiful - you both look fantastic (although I have to say you look stunning in your dress Jayne!). Look forward to catching up after the honeymoon and hearing all about the big day.
Lots of love and best wishes for a long and happy future together

Jayne you looked so pretty in your dress and Adam, so handsome (it’s in the genes!), in your smart outfit. It was good to see you both so happy - you were smiling the whole day.
We wish you both every happiness and may all your dreams come true.
Thank you both for a memorable day.
