Prestwold Hall wedding of Craig and Louise

posted by: Karrie on 27 September 2010

An action packed day with the most super family and friends at this wedding ...

Hugs and happiness at Prestwold Hall

Jon and I were at Prestwold Hall on Saturday for the wedding of Louise and Craig - who actually live in the next village to us but we only met at a wedding fayre.

Couldn’t believe how calm and organised Louise was - all ready over 2 hours before the ceremony! Jon was photographer while I was main videographer and we had a great time with the Craig and the guys when they arrived in the cool Range Rovers before walking through the stunning Hall gardens to the quaint country church. Craig with Best Man Michael, ushers Roger and Graham and the 2 fathers Mick and Peter were all looking dapper in their suits with purple cravats and kerchiefs.

When Louise arrived in her horse drawn carriage by Emerald Horse & Carriage Hire of Blaby, dressed in a fabulous diamntée encrusted gown, it was like watching a period movie with Louise as heroine. She was attended by beautiful bridesmaids Kerry and Louise in this season’s ‘must have’ Cadbury purple and cute baby Brooke in ivory. Louise totally blew Craig away when he saw her and no-one was surprised by that as she looked totally stunning!

After the lovely ceremony conducted by Rev John Whittaker and some very enthusuastic confetti throwing outside the church gate (!) Craig and Louise were driven away for a 40 minute carriage ride while guests enjoyed Bucks Fizz on the Hall terrace accompanied by an excellent harpist.

A very fast photo session followed (45 mins) before the sumptuous wedding breakfast, amusing speeches and cake cutting. The cake was made by the groom’s mother Linda Strachan and quite honestly it was one of my most favourite ever: plainly iced, edged with diamantée and adorned with icing Calla lillies as carried by the bride in her bouquet.

A few more photos before baby Brooke’s sleep time, video messages, straight into the First Dance and a few fun disco tracks and then a spectacular firework display in the Hall grounds. Could anything be more action-packed and fun?

Congratulations from us all at Electra Films to the new Mr and Mrs Strachan. They’ve now left for a fabulous 10 day honeymoon in Barbados. Please leave Craig and Louise a message using the comments form below (We’ll then contact you when their photo password is removed and also when their movie highlights go online in our movie theatre.)

Craig and Louise’s wedding photos are online and as they’ve seen them the passowrd is now removed, so to view their lovely Prestwold Hall wedding photos - follow the link, click on view photos, weddings and then choose their album to view.

Craig and Lou,

Well what can I say that hasn’t been said by either myself or the other guests before. I’ll try something different. Thanks to you two i’m looking to change careers. I’m not sure Coal mining is the future for me now, no, its in public speaking. I also have the fallback plan of events coordinator..

I’d like to start this speech by thanking Craig and Louise for a wonderful day at Prestwold hall, all those involved know what kind of days you guys had coming upto the wedding, but you handled it faultlessly.

You only have to look at Firday’s event to realise that.. Me Craig and Graham up at 12am still fixing the car, the day before the wedding. Granted, Craig was doing the lionshare of the work, with me providing adequate distraction with an iPhone torch, and Graham putting his coffee’s just where we didn’t want them! What a team! Then staying up till 3am writing speeches!

But it all added to the memories, and what a great day of memories the Saturday became. The allure of Prestwold hall, the weather, the church, spectacular fireworks, the people we met and the friends we made. I for one learnt alot that weekend, thanks to you guys.

So, from me, and any who are unable to post here, thankyou, you two mean so much to so many and it was the greatest honour to play a part in it. All the best, see you after the honeymoon.

Love to Craig, Lou and my little pal Brooke, the best man, (although that title clearly being Craig’s), Mike xxx
