Marston Farm Hotel wedding for Louise and Matthew
posted by: Karrie on 20 August 2011
A VW wedding is always very welcome at Electra ...

Louise and Matthew with Otis proudly looking on!
When Louise and Matthew booked us for their photography it was smiles all round. We love Marston Farm Hotel - brilliant staff, fab courtyard and canalside for photos, good food and lovely marquée - you’re getting the picture?!
Our new assistant photographer has recently joined the Electra team - welcome Nick! We began with bridal preparations at the venue and at this point the weather was looking a bit scary - was it really going to rain? Great umbrella photos though and we caught some lovely shots of lovely bridesmaids Sarah, Sarah, Rachel and Grace as they got ready to wear their beautiful green gowns.
Photos with the guys revolved around the surprise from the groom’s family - Otis the VW Bay Camper driven by Michelle Mclaughlin.
Anyone who knows me knows I love my VW Beetle so we have a soft spot for VW weddings - especially when they feature our friends from Beetle Drive UK, where nothing is too much trouble for their clients. Gotta love them! Best Man Lee Smith and ushers Andrew, Russell and Matthew with page boys Jack and Dylan looked uber cool apparently - you can judge from the photos of course!
Registrar for the day was a friend of the family it was a very personal experience for the couple. Was that a few tears the team saw? Not surprised but there was a registrar total photo ban so we don’t have the evidence but we’re sure the heartfelt emotions will remain with all their family and friends. (* At most weddings professional photographers are allowed to take a small number of photos with absolutely no flash, so ask us if you’d like to see some ceremony photos and we can point you at some online. We don’t go against individual vicars or registrars’ wishes though.)
Drinks were served after the ceremony in our favourite courtyard setting while Rei and Nick got on with the photo shoot. We pride ourselves on organising the shoot so guests are free to enjoy themselves as soon as possible and they certainly seemed to be having a great time!
The romantic photos by the canal tow path are always a joy at Marston Farm and I love these photos. Plenty of time left though for the bride and groom to relax with guests for a few minutes before the wedding breakfast in the stunning marquée. Rei LOVED the cake by the way. Isn’t it amazing?
Speeches went well and guests seemed to vanish for a while to recharge their batteries for a good night head. It must have worked though as the First Dance was followed by some lively dance floor action before Rei and Nick left the party to rock the night away.
Congratulations from us all at Electra Films to the new married couple Mr and Mrs Way. Please leave Louise and Matthew a message using the comments form below. Their photos are online but they are password protected until the couple return from their fab honeymoon in Vegas and Hawaii. So check back 2nd week in September when they’ve had time to see them first (unless they email us from honeymoon ...) and have a look at their Best Western Marston Farm Hotel wedding photos. Click on View Photos, choose Weddings, then Matthew and Louise’s album ... but wait for the password to be removed!
