Elim Church, Selly Oak and Lea Marston Hotel wedding of Carole and James

So glad that this lovely couple managed to miss all the showers at their wedding ...

Carole and James at Lea Marston Golf Club and Hotel.

Jon and I were photographers for Carole and James’ wedding at Elim Church, Selly Oak followed by their reception at Lea Marston Hotel. Bright sunshine interspersed with sudden showers all day - not the easiest weather for photographs but hopefully they like the images in their gallery.

We arrived at the friendly church while the excellent church band and singers were rehearsing and James with his best man Jason Hodges and ushers David Kenworthy, with Daniel and Simon Gibson were all early and ready for guests. It was lovely to see How excited James was in anticipation of his marriage.

Bride’s mother Bernie Trainer in purple with daughters Ciara and Nicole Trainer in burgundy tea length gowns were also early arrivals and looking very chic. Really liked the red roses teamed with orange bouquets - unusual and very autumnal.

Carole arrived with her father Ciaran in a Mercedes limousine and again the anticipation was clear to see in her smiling face. She looked stunning in her beautiful gown and James was totally bowled over when he saw her walk down the aisle on her proud father’s arm.

What followed was one of the most friendly, intimate and touching ceremonies I’ve every witnessed in filming and photographing 300 weddings, under the auspices of Rev Maldwyn Jones. It was obvious that the couple are well-known and liked by all the congregation. Readers were the groom’s sisters Abigail and Charlotte and witnesses were the 2 mothers.

A few photos and confetti followed before moving on to the reception at Lea Marston Hotel, where the lovely Dawn was on hand to organise proceedings. Dawn is always incredibly friendly and helpful - our thanks to her.

There was a little confusion as not all guests had realised that James and Carole had asked for photos of all their family and friends but despite intermittent showers all was accomplished ahead of time - something we pride ourselves on as we prefer to give couples and their guests time to enjoy their reception, rather than taking all their time with photos! I particularly like the romantic photos by the bridge on the golf course.
