Couples rush to wedding fayre

Breaking from tradition, couples have rushed to the last wedding fayres of the season. But why?

14 April 2008

Brides and grooms traditionally rush to early wedding fayres in September and January, but this year they have waited till the end of the season to turn up in high numbers to plan their weddings.

Sunday’s Oak Farm Hotel, Cannock wedding fayre was a huge success. Approximately 160 brides attended the event, which is always popular, because Alex Banford, manager of the family-run hotel, includes exhibitors hand-picked for quality and variety.  Many couples were planning as far ahead as 2010 to take advantage of early booking prices and to make sure they get the best.  Many were considering Oak Farm as their venue and commented on the hotel’s reputation for personal service.

The Moat House at Acton Trussell Wednesday evening wedding fayre welcomed nearly 200 brides, but some couples expecting to book suppliers for this Summer were disappointed to find they had missed the boat! Others were planning for 2009 and 2010 weddings, so they had more choices available for them. Couples could also look round the hotel grounds to see the beautiful photo opportunities.

So why the massive turnout for these 2 events? Paul Powell of Platinum Wedding Cars explained, “Couples have learnt that quality venues have the best wedding fayres, with quality exhibitors. They are booking up to 2 years ahead so they can plan for the day they really want. We took bookings for 2010 at both events.”
