Cutting the costs as wedding video booms!

The economy may be in recession but brides and grooms are determined that all the memories they create and money spent will be remembered ...

Last weekend Electra Films filmed 3 weddings for couples who definitely didn’t want to waste money but who are part of the growing awareness that wedding video is one of the best possible ways to use their wedding budget.

A good wedding film (or wedding video as the wedding DVD (define) is still called) maximises the value of everything spent at a wedding. ‘Every bride and groom in the world just cannot remember all the special moments of their wedding day, but with a professionally made DVD they can re-live their wedding day and also see so much they missed on the day’ explained Electra Films partner Karrie Hidderley.

This year has seen more couples cutting back on items like seating plans, favours, table flower arrangements and wedding cakes. (Last weekend ALL THREE weddings had Marks & Spencer wedding cakes, which we’d never seen before this year!) Many couples are now making their own stationery and seating plans for that personal touch too.

Wedding venues are reporting much smaller weddings and Electra Films have seen their average wedding size fall by approximately 80 guests, creating a more personal atmosphere, with just close friends and family attending in the day and other friends and work colleagues arriving for a good party celebration in the evening - with more money being spent on evening buffets though!
